Phlebitis

Phlebitis is the inflammation of a vein. This situation is caused by an injury to the vein or by infection and is associated with swelling, tenderness, redness and hardening.

During an acute episode of phlebitis, wearing a compression garment and staying mobile like walking regularly is most indicated.
