Emmett Technique

What is the Emmett Technique?

The Emmett Technique is a unique body therapy technique created by Ross Emmett. It offers an alternative treatment to ease pain and discomfort and may benefit many conditions. The Emmett Technique works on the understanding that once identified, working on a critical point with the smallest input can result in the greatest change in the complex human body, effecting sensory and muscular receptors and activating an emotional state.

How does it work?

The treatment can be done fully clothed and to provide relief of muscular pain whilst using a verbal approach to create attitude change.

The technique can involve cross fibre technique in the muscle belly or attachments sites in a sequence that enables gentle physical release.

I often add Emmett Technique to Manual Lymphatic Drainage to improve the results.

Benefits can include:

·       Relief of neck and shoulder discomfort

·       Decreasing or removing headaches and sinus symptoms

·       Assisting with back and hip pain

·       Improving joints restrictions

·       Providing pregnancy and infant assistance

·       Reducing stomach discomfort

·       Increasing grip strength

·       Improving body symmetry and balance

·       Increasing lung capacity and body flexibility.

Treatment time

It may vary according to the individual and it usually lasts from 20 to 45 minutes.
